Are all joints the same?

There are several types of joints.

Fibrous joints allow little or no movement. The joints between the bones of the skull are examples.

Hip Osteoarthritis

Glucosamine and Chondroitin: Building Materials of Healthy Cartilage

Glucosamine and chondroitin are natural components of cartilage — the smooth, tough tissue that covers the ends of bones inside many joints.

Think of cartilage as the protective cushioning layer of a joint. It helps the bones move smoothly and absorb the forces created when we walk, climb stairs or exercise.
